Music Event Photography at Liverpool Africa Oyé Festival

Liverpool Africa Oyé 2015 Music Event Photography

I thought I’d share some music event photography from Africa Oyé 2015… This is the UK’s biggest live festival of African music and culture, and we’ve been celebrating this event in Liverpool since 1992.

On the main stage was head lining artist Omar, and other highlights throughout the day included Sarabi (Kenya) and Gordon Masiala & NKA Musica.

There were also stalls, food & drink, arts & crafts, clothes and accessories from Africa, the Caribbean and beyond. Along with Urban Gypsies and a mixture of local characters.

Thanks to Paul Duhaney and all at Oyé for another great family friendly festival. Now in its 23rd year, Paul Duhaney said he is hopeful that 2015 will beat last year’s record-breaking crowds of 80,000 over the two day event.

Saturday started out wet and thankfully turned into a beautiful afternoon and early evening.

I’m now into my 19th year attending this event. From the early years being held in Birkenhead Park, it has grown in size at Sefton Park Liverpool, which has continued to host it annually… Long may it continue!
