How a Creative Headshot Session Works
Every session starts with a conversation about what you need and what you want the images to say about you. I’ll ask about how you intend to use the photographs, what your brief is (if you have one), and how formal or relaxed you’d like the result to feel. From there I’ll suggest locations, lighting approaches and styling ideas that suit both the purpose and your personality.
Sessions can take place outdoors at one of Liverpool’s many great locations, in a natural indoor setting such as your workplace or home, or against a studio background if you’d prefer a cleaner, more formal look. I bring my professional lighting and equipment wherever we shoot, so quality is consistent regardless of where we are. Every shoot is tailored to your brief or agency requirements, and I focus on creating a relaxed, informal atmosphere so genuine expression and personality come through naturally.

A Note for Camera-Shy Clients
If the thought of being photographed makes you nervous, you’re in good company — and you’re also in good hands. Many of my clients tell me beforehand that they hate having their photo taken, and almost all of them leave saying they actually enjoyed it. I work at a relaxed pace, I’ll show you images as we go, and I’ll always make sure you’re happy before we move on. The aim is to capture you at your best, not to make you feel uncomfortable.

Do you offer outdoor and indoor sessions?
Yes — I’m happy to work in either setting, or a combination of both. Liverpool has some beautiful locations for outdoor headshots, and I can also set up my professional mobile studio in your home or workplace if you’d prefer a more controlled environment.
How long does a creative headshot session take?
Most sessions last between one and two hours depending on the number of looks and locations involved. I’ll always give you a clear idea of timing when we discuss your requirements beforehand.
Do you retouch the images?
Yes — every selected image is professionally retouched to a natural, polished finish. I work carefully to enhance the photograph without losing the character and expression that makes it worth using.
Can I bring a friend or colleague?
Absolutely. Many clients find it helpful to have someone with them, particularly if they feel nervous about the session.
Do you cover areas outside Liverpool?
